Not long ago, the TemplateMonster team released an interactive Infographic highlighting the history of web design trends from 2004 to 2015. It has an easy-to-navigate structure placing the list of trends in a timeline. Each year is represented by 5 trends on a dropdown horizontal bar. Once you click on one of them, you will enter a new page with its brief yet instructive description and 5 pictures illustrating the way it’s applied to different sites. At the bottom of the page, there are also circular thumbnails with the other trends of that year, while at the top you can see a button designed to return you to the timeline.
As you can see, it’s a convenient way to explore trends when you have all of them at hand, instead of browsing through tons of posts on the web. No wonder the Infographic ultimately gained popularity in the web design community, and the team from TM didn’t stop there. Inspired by the Infographic, they have prepared new cool stuff for their audience – in this case a special deck of playing cards. It contains 52 cards, each of which visually depicts one web design trend, describes it briefly, and indicates the year of its emergence. The back of each card is spiced up with touches of the trendy material design style, as is the box in which they are packed.
The cards are creative, entertaining and informative, all at the same time. They are also unique in their essence, as there’s currently no other deck of cards depicting the evolution of web design. You can also use them to play games with friends or keep them as a souvenir. The deck will also be a great gift for a friend involved in the web design industry or, say, gambling.
